Project close-out that checks itself

BuildCore's close-out checklist doesn't take anyone's word for it. It checks the punch list, NCRs, retention bonds, as-built handover and contract status live, records sign-offs for the rest, and closes the project only once warranty claims are clear — with a close-out report at the end.

Why it matters

Projects don't finish — they fade out

The last five percent of a project takes the longest, because nobody can see what's actually still open.

A checklist of good intentions

Ticked boxes say the punch list is clear. The punch list itself says otherwise.

Handover by email

As-builts and O&M documents handed over piecemeal are hard to prove complete a year later.

Waivers nobody recorded

Something was agreed not to matter. Nobody wrote down who agreed it, or why.

Capabilities

What Project Close-Out does

A checklist verified live

  • Five items checked automatically against other modules: punch list closed, NCRs closed, retention bonds released, as-builts handed over, contract closed out
  • Three items signed off by people: final accounts agreed, O&M handed over, handover certificate obtained
  • Any item can be waived with a reason — and the waiver is audited
  • Complete needs the checklist; close also needs zero open warranty claims

As-builts and handover

  • As-built packages: add documents, verify each line, submit, approve and hand over
  • A handover register with numbered items, category, priority, responsible party and due date
  • Handover items outstanding, in progress, completed or waived
  • Defects-liability period status and dates, and a lessons-learned reference

Questions

Project Close-Out — common questions

Five checklist items aren't ticked by hand: BuildCore reads the punch list, NCRs, retention bonds, as-built handover and contract status from their own modules when you look.

It can be waived, with a reason. The waiver is recorded with who made it and when.

Once the checklist is complete and there are no open warranty claims. The close-out report is then available as a PDF.
